From the search pages, you can use the toolbar to open a Help page, consult general information about the Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker, start a search or access the Table of Contents, Works by Author, Search History and Marked List pages. The Search Non-literary Works page can be opened by clicking Non-literary on the toolbar. You can search the Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker using a combination of the following search fields:
To conduct a search, either type the required search terms (individual words or phrases) into the relevant search boxes or select them from a browse index. Search Options are selected from a drop-down list. In the Search Non-literary Works page, you can combine search terms using Boolean and proximity searching and search for variations on search terms using truncation searching. KeywordYou can use the Keyword field to search for any word or phrase contained within Non-literary Works. To enter terms into the search box:
When searching in the Keyword field, you can use truncation to retrieve documents containing variations on a term. If you choose to search for more than one term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching. You can use the Date of Composition/Publication field to select a range of years to search in.
To select a range of years:
The search will now be restricted to these years.
You can use the Search in field to restrict your search to particular elements in the database.
To select an option:
The search will now be restricted to this selection. The Default selection is Full Text and Apparatus.
You can use Display Search Results to choose the way in which the results of your search are presented.
To select an option:
The search results will be displayed either With Context or as a Summary of Matches according to your choice.
Clicking the Durable URL link at the top of the pages in the site will open a small pop-up window containing a Durable URL for this citation. You can copy and paste this link into your own resources and can use it to link straight back into the product at this page.
