What is the Search History
page? | Running a search
What is the Search History page? The Search History page records all the searches you have run during the current session. It allows you to run searches again, refine them, combine them with other searches or delete them from your list. Note that the searches on the Search History page are only retained for a single session so that any information recorded there will be lost once you exit Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker. Click the Search History button in the toolbar of Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker to open the Search History index. Search histories are listed separately for each type of search in Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker e.g. All Sections, Literary, Non-Literary etc. Each search type appears as a hyperlinked heading on the Search History index indicating the number of records in the list. Click a heading to view a list of the searches you have run of that type. The heading for the current list is highlighted in lilac in the Search History index at the top of the page; if you want to view a different list click the relevant heading in the Search History index. Note that only the terms of your search are recorded, not the results of the search itself. Each entry in the list consists of:

Refining a searchYou may want to change elements of a search to widen or narrow the scope.
Instead of having to enter your search terms all over again, you can use
the Refine link.
Note: It is not possible to refine a previously combined search - combined searches are displayed in the list without a refine link. Clearing searches
Combining searchesYou may wish to combine previous searches from the Search History list and see how it affects the number of results retrieved:
Note it is not possible to combine searches of different types. E.g.
You cannot combine a Literary search with a Diaries search. |
