Digitale Bibliothek Deutscher Klassiker enables you to search for titles, keywords or authors. Searches can be limited to the works of a particular author or to a certain genre of texts.

Search fields are provided to help you locate individual works according to author or title. Each of these search fields has a browse list to help in the formulation of searches. Keyword searches can also be performed on words in combination, or for words in proximity. Truncation and wildcard searching allows you to retrieve documents containing variations on a search term, thus accommodating the complexity of the German language. Navigation tools help you move between individual occurrences of your search term. Your searches for each session are saved in a Search History where you can combine previous search sets.

You can browse through the entire database using the table of contents, and browse a convenient list of Works by Author.

Results can be displayed in either summary form or with context, which enables you to see your search terms in their immediate context. Results can be marked for printing or emailing citations and durable links to specific works.
